HI Jane

Lovely to hear that you are doing well. I just had my first annual results back - yes the waiting was hard but I was very lucky and got the all clear. I too am making the most of every day. I am 12 months post the end of chemo and my hair remains thin but I have decided this is a small price to pay. Unfortunately not everyone is so lucky and I was so sad to hear Teresa's news. My heart goes out to her. BW Caroline. I wish you continued good health xxxx

Hi Jane

In the same boat, just had annual mammogram and waiting for results. Go from feeling really scared one minute to feeling really calm the next. Had a call and voicemail from a withheld number last week I nearly passed out, turned out it was only cancer support calling about a course I was interested in!

Fingers crossed it’ll be good news for us.

I’ve just had my 3rd Annual Check Up following my Mammogram on the other breast, as l had a Mastectomy. I did raise the issue with the BCNurse re the waiting time after Mammogram until the appointment, she reassured me that they would always ring if they found anything worrying, so hope that reassures you. 🌺

Thanks Mrs Nails for that :)

Hi

Good to hear from you, the group seems to be relatively quiet these days.

My ongoing issues are my hair, it’s not growing back properly at the front but OK(ish) at the sides & fine at the back; so l’m still sporting a wig(s) but with my own hair blended at the nap.

I saw my Oncologist, he asked how l was, if l had any issues, so l mentioned my hair, he looked at me quizzically then nearly fell off his chair as l pulled my wig off 😂 most of his Patients wear wigs, he just had no idea mine was! 💁🏻‍♀️

The Taxol affected me badly, damaging my knees & causing peripheral neuropathy in my feet, l was TNBC so no ongoing Treatment apart from 6 Zolendronic Infusions over three years, last one in October this year!

I have an autoimmune disease which l had before BC & that’s an issue at the moment as my Liver Markers are through the roof, so that is rather taking my attention these days.

Trust Everyone is doing OK? Onwards & Upwards! 🌺

Best Wishes

Mrs N 💅🏼

oh it is good to hear from you all ...Mrs Nails ...i've had weaves put in my hair and honestly apart from the first night its uncomfortable ...i have never looked back ...i look like i did before chemo ...i can wash it and straighten it ...its great and have been able to get rid of the wig ..feeling fresh air on my head is a treat ...I get anxious as i wasn't told I was TN...but i have no after treatment at all ..I'm scared to ask in case its bad news lol ...silly as I'm sure all is ok ...I do wonder if its possible that I just had the type of breast cancer that needed chemo and radiotherapy after operation ..I was told it wasn't hormone receptive and that was it ....other people who were TN had a different treatment and or other treatment after ...still I guess we are all different ...Donnanh ...yes fingers crossed ...i know in my mind if they not on the phone all is OK ...but would be nice to see it in black and white ...It is weird at the end of treatment thee is no ...well that's it ...or well done you've done it ...lol ...you just have that last radiotherapy session and walk out ...its all a bit strange ....hope you get your letter through soon xxx

Good to read your post and that you have got life by the short and curlies no matter how we feel when the annual check up dates arrive ..you wonder! Mine 2nd annual just took place (i had a lumpectomy on 15092016 followed by 16 sessions of radiotherapy and been on tamoxifen since) had a bit of a scare but actually it all turned out fine next thing for me in 2019 is a bone density scan and blood checks to see if i can change my meds

More importantly like you going forward with life have a great job, great life and friends and family, travelling and my boyfriend got down on one knee in Florence earlier this year and proposed ☺☺ after a big tearful yes we are getting married in June 2019 so life goes on with things to look forward to

The positive message is deal with things when you need to and enjoy life whilst you can

Take care hugs xx
