My wife underwent Masctomy in July 2015 & is on ANASTRAZOLE (ARIMIDEX) since Oct15;But of late, different Chemists/pharmacist are charging different rates for it ranging from Rs4000/- to Rs6870/-;we are very suspicious about genuineness of medicine!

Request the forum for guidance on it or should we switch over to alternate co which are very cheap.

She is feeling triedness & pain in legs & has gone ostopenic, any suggestions PL...

The big pharma really do play russian roulette with our lives. I would also be querying the massive price differences. I have bone pain too. I was on anastrozole and was changed onto aromasin. I recommend your wife take calcichew, a calcium supplement for her bones. Eat cheese, drink milk, eat yoghurt. It will aid in strengthening her bones. Definitely seek out a calcium suppliment.

Wishing you both all the best

Also worth getting bone scan , dexa scan to make sure bones are not osteoporosis, as the drug your wife is on can thin the bones, so worth a check as a baseline check, then take calcium and vitamin D supplements.

You need to check with the drug companies about programs they offer. I don’t know what insurance you have but I get mine free through grants the drug companies have. I have Blue Cross and there is no way I can afford 24k a month for Faslodex or Inrance. The Dr. told me not even he could afford there price. Never hurts to ask your oncologist too. Mine turned it over to his department that handles it and I didn’t have to do anything.Good luck....

Thanks do much Clair..

I am in the UK, so fortunately do not have to pay for my medication. I take letrazole which is similar. If your wife has Osteopenia she will need a blood test to check her calcium and Vitamin D levels. I also have osteopenia and although my calcium levels were fine I was severely Vit D deficient and have been prescribed strong supplements. After taking the Vit D for a month I had to have my Kidney function checked. I hope this helps answer part of your question.
