Chillin' ;)

Hi there everyone. Well it is Wednesday (I had to check on the calendar) morning. Here I am, chomping on a turkey and cranberry sambo whilst catching up on the news feeds. I hope that you all had a very peaceful and relaxing Christmas. Ours was very quiet, yet not boringly so. It was refreshing, happy and peaceful. However, Lainey here, had to upset the applecart on that one. Yesterday being St. Stephen's Day or Boxing Day (depending where you are), I headed out for a quiet one or two pints with the hubby and one of my sons. My other son had the good sense to stay at home. Our friends joined us and lo and behold, an unplanned session was in full swing. Am I paying for it today.... Yup! I more than over indulged and now have a banging head, and guess what, I am enjoying every single second of it. Why? Because it is the first time in a long time that I feel like the 'Old Me'. Now, when I say this, It could be taken that I was a raving alcoholic, not at all, I worked hard and played harder. Perhaps that could account for the cancer, however I am not going to go down that route, I have enjoyed my life, I have lived it to the full and I am going to continue to do so. I know the stats regarding tnbc, but that is not going to dictate how I live, love, play and enjoy my way through life. Today I had the news that one of my best friends has been diagnosed with stage 4 mouth and throat cancer. This just hit home (again) as to how precious life is and how much we miss when we focus too much on our hardships. I am going to continue to laugh, dance, fight and claw my way through life, breathing in, tasting, seeing, hearing, touching and smelling all the beauty that surrounds us that we often over look. I promise myself now to continue with the attitude that 'Life is to be enjoyed and not endured' (wise words from one of my husbands bosses on the forestry many years ago). Enjoy the lull between the manic times of Christmas and New Year. Here is to a very healthy, happy and prosperous New Year for us all. Much love always, Lainey66 xxxxxx

Hope your head is feeling better, sounds like you all had a wonderful time. I too am going to start enjoying my life again in a couple of months, complications from a cataract surgery 2 yrs ago has now meant the hospital have seen fit to register me as severely sight impaired (blind), they told me they were going down the partially sighted route but no, big changes going on in my life but once they're sorted out I'll be out enjoying my new lifestyle, wishing you, your family and everyone else on this forum a happy, healthy 2018 xxx
