All clear

Got my second all clear, should have been so happy, but when I got to the appointment (which had been changed, due to unforeseen circumstances) I found that I was no longer under my usual consultant, I was so upset I cried all the way back to the car, he was so reassuring through all my treatment, held my hand going into the operation, I feel absolutely lost, but he was there when things were bad. The new one was very nice,(but not the same) I know it sounds daft even stupid when you read all the stories on here, but I’ve got over it now, so in the words of Mr Kasem, I’m going to go and live my life. Good luck to everybody that reads this.xx

Ahh Parker not surprised. Breast cancer and all that goes with it is such a huge enormous draw on our emotions and your original consultant clearly helped prop you up then and that has stayed with you for 2 years. So to lose that prop will be a big loss.

How lucky you were to have had such a good consultant!

A good post, thank you 😊

I think you have summed it up really well.

I'm due for my second checkup in 2weeks time and never thought my consultant and breast nurse may not be there.i will get my head around that ,but I can't understand why I'm more scared this year than last.congratulations on the all clear xx

I wasn’t scarred, because I had the mammogram and was told if there was a problem I’d get a phone call, I didn’t get one so everything had to be ok,but I do know what you mean, just prayed the phone didn’t ring.

Good luck with your and fingers crossed.xx

Are you at High Wycombe? My consultant was Kareem Behranwala. He was a lovely chap.

No Chatham in Kent, and my consultant was Mr Abdul Kasem, also known as god or the boss in our house.

I know how you feel. My oncologist has been changed. I had a lovely lady oncologist but now have a man. I met him for the first time a couple of weeks ago and he was really nice, but my other oncologist was there from the start. It's almost like losing a good family friend

It's great news and another step in the right direction. 😊

It's also quite understandable that you were upset. We put our lives in the hands of our consultants and build a relationship with them as we go through treatment. It must have felt as if a safety line had been removed. Well done for working through it.

Go enjoy life. X

There’s nothing like good cry, to sort the brains out, then I realised he was there for the very worse part, so I count myself lucky now, only the new consultant had his cake I made him, it became a bit of a joke with the speck team, every time they came I’d made a different cake, and he always wanted some, so I made the team a Xmas cake with pink Xmas trees on,and this time I made him a chocolate brownie fudge cake, which he won’t get to eat,the thought was there.

Well done for getting through this. The cakes are a lovely idea too. X
