Has anyone had cellulitis type symptoms following radiotherapy. I finished my radiotherapy last September and currently feel absolutely awful. Consultant says it is rare but it looks and feels terrible. On antibiotics and painkillers and feel dreadful.

Hi. I had cellulitis a couple of times after radiotherapy. I believe mine was linked to Lymphodema. It's a miserable condition so you have my sympathy (especially in this warm weather). hope you feel better soon.
Thank you. It really is quite nasty, just when I was doing so well and a year down the line. Blood results say there is some infection there. Goodness knows how? So on vast doses of antibiotics which make me feel sick. Ah well, one way of losing weight! Thank you for your support, just feeling very sorry for myself and to top it all have had to cancel trip to London this weekend 😢
It only takes the tiniest scratch! One of my 'events ' was from an insect bite I got at a barbecue. Now I am well stocked with repellant and make sure I keep skin well moisturised. Sorry about your London trip. I can definitely sympathise with that one as I also had a cancelled London trip (different time of year though). Perhaps they could try you on a different antibiotic? Flucloxacillin gives me indigestion but no sickness. Take care x

Could it be lymphodema? If so, ask your breast care nurse to refer you to the lymphodema service
Thank you. I have a bit of lymphoedema in my arm but it looks like a full blown cellulitis. Dr has changed my antibiotics and I am being reviewed by registrar tomorrow. Thanks for your advice.
