Positive lymph nodes after NACT

I was diagnosed with BC last September and currently undergoing radiotherapy. I underwent 8 rounds of neo chemo, despite that two of my lymph nodes were positive. This has been a bummer to me. My oncologist says that due to my cancer being er/pr+ve , the results are good. Anyone who faced the same?

Yes same I had 5 lymph nodes level one had traces in but had 22 removed level 2 and 4 clear and all clear margins so I wa adjust so pleased the surgeon removed all of my nodes . I then had radiotherapy having had chemo first before surgery . If you want a chat email me [e-mail]

I had 11 lymph nodes removed, 3 of which tested positive.

Hi there well my bc is er+ and I had full mx and lymph node removal at the same time (December 7th) - 6 out of 11 lymphs tested positive. I am currently mid chemo and have radio to look forward to too.

It sounds to me like you need your onco to justify his diagnosis of "good". I understand there are calculations available that provide a % rate of success for treatments (chemo, radio, hormone therapy eg tamoxifen, anastrazole, zoladex and or lastrazole dependent on menopause status). As everyones physiology is unique then everyones diagnosis and therefore treatment plan is unique,

Perhaps have a look at the breastcancercare website section of Understanding your Pathology Report and the suggested questions to ask your doctor / oncologist? I beleive your treatment plan and your long term prognosis to be based on the information gained from this, the post surgery pathology report.
