Hi, I'm halfway through my 6 cycles of FEC chemotherapy as of last Friday..it's been a rough week but today I'm off to the races and to see Will Young with the hubby and friends.! I'm also being a little brave and wearing my long blond hair for the first time (I'm normally dark brown and bob)..nervous but excited to see my friends reactions too lol.!
This journey is tough one, but have lots arranged to look forward to over the 2nd half of this, keeping positive all the way

You look fantastic! No-one would know that lovely groomed look is not your natural look! Hope you enjoyed yourself but remember, the end of chemotherapy is not always as straightforward as planned. I tried to do too much, got very tired, frustrated with myself and consequently suffered mentally. My husband expected me to be well (why not when treatment has finished?) and as I had gone back to a phased return at work, both of us expected too much too soon. My worst 8 weeks of my entire journey was from the date chemotherapy ended until I connected with The Wessex Haven and I really did begin my recovery from that point. I got so low and couldn't stop crying (all well documented symptoms for people going through the type of things we go through) but I wouldn't have got through it without help from Haven. I am so grateful for their help. You take care and do not be afraid to ask for help, should you need it. X
You look great. When I first had my wig I thought people would know it was a wig but nobody noticed, even though it was a different colour and style from my own hair. One of my husband's friends said to him "I thought people lost their hair with chemo" Just confirms that men don't actually notice what we look like! Best wishes to you xxx
When I was wearing my brown wig which is a bob style, so very much like my own hair, someone complemented me on my new hair cut lol, I didn't have the heart to tell her but husband was sat next to me laughing his head off.!! Xx

Hi Vicki, I hope your starting to feel better, it usually takes me about 3 days to start to feel normal after treatment, it took a bit longer this time and I expect it will do so from this point on.
My advice (as the girls on hear will also say) is listen to your body, rest when you need to and take care of yourself..!!
