I had to ring the SPECK team this morning,I've got a large area which is solid and swollen, they think it's a sarnoma, and what it is basically,is where the drains came out,the fluid hasn't been absorbed,so needs draining,so seeing mr Kasem tomorrow,it is uncomfortable and means I can't lift my arm or do my exercises.

I bet he thought that was the last he'd see of me!!

This is perfectly normal. Draining is painless and will give you instant relief.

I have to.have my fluid drained by the breast nurse about once a week since my operation almost 6 weeks ago the fluid decreases each time it doesn't hurt as you are very numb in the area they put the needle in

Don't worry most women get Seroma. I am 13 weeks post op and still have 400 mls a week but have agreed to stop having it drained so I can have radiotherapy, which I've started. It is uncomfortable but I am exercising 5 times a week and the stretches are essential.

Good luck x

I had this aftet my first op and as previously said, I was numb in the area so it wasn't uncomfortable doing the draining, but was before they drained. It does go in the end x

You will be so much better when it's done xxxx stay strong & positive xx

Sorry to hear this. It happened to me too (I think it is quite common). I was going back and forth for weeks. Still, in the grand scale of things it could be worse. You just don't need it on top of everything else! Hope it gets sorted soon.

They couldn't drain it,due to the implant,so I'm on antibiotics, injections, and see the consultant next Wednesday,I know he's lovely, but thought I'd seen the last of him for a while.never mind,it could be a lot worse.he thinks my body mybe rejecting the implant,so just have to do as I'm told, and wait and see next week.Xxx
