I've finished all treatment, back at work everything ok, however my hair is growing back fine but very curly I don't know what to do with it, I have had straight hair for 52years & haven't got a clue what to do with curls 🤔

Mine too!  I'm now a year past chemo/ radio and it still hasn't reverted to being fine and straight.  I've had to have a trim because of frizzy ends.  Currently I just stick a hair band on, I'm enjoying the novelty 😊xB

OMG I really thought it would go back to normal sooner than that, well now I no I will just have to try different things like a headband, it's just a bit to short at the moment. Thank you for your reply X 😘

Sounds lovely, but haven't got a clue what to do with it either, would love curly/wavy hair.i hope you find a solution, take a picture,be proud,as least it will look thicker, mine is short straight, and as course as a pineapple, and thinning out at a great rate of knots.this could be a bonus, mine has gone grey overnight.Xxx

I've not gone grey yet was a red head before but now it's like biscuit color, were never happy are we I know I should be glad I'm still here I'm just in shock as it was thin & straight before, thanks for reply 😘 X

I finished chemo in November and my hair is coming back with a wave to it, my husband said I look like a teddy boy, haha! Think need to get it trimmed as its bit longer over ears and right on top but crown not doing as well, could do to look abit more uniform.

Moroccan oil is the key! I'm a natural curly and mine is also growing back curly thankfully, I cold capped so have longer sections as well as the short ones where it thinned but it looks ok with headbands.

Dry oils will tame it and make it manageable (also smells lush too!) I tend to leave mine after showering I don't even comb it as there's no need.  Good luck I imagine it looks lovely! X

Mine is also growing back curly after also always being fine and straight.  It's also grey but it could have been grey anyway as I've dyed it for years

Hi I've not had a problem with hair as I didn't have chemo but after the radiotherapy it is dryer than before oddly. I also suffer from Lupus and took steroids for many years, when I had to stop them because of complications my hair normally straight had gone very thin and brittle but then started growing and growing and growing and was curly! I can blow dry the curls out but if left it stays curly. No idea why but just shows how our bodies adjust and adapt to drugs. Take it as a blessing and a sign of good health. X

I had long dark thick hair and it has grown back blonde and mad curly lol , they way I'm looking at it is that at least it's hair! When I was bald I always promised myself I'd never moan about a bad hair day ever again lol . I use curl tamer and I have to wet my hair each morning to tame it down . It's really thick and coarse but hey this time 6 months ago I'd none so bring it on 😊😊

I know your right it's just a shock to my system ha ha just thought I'd put it out there see if anyone had any good tips to tame it, I. The same I have to wet it every morning before i go to work mine is really soft & will not go the way I want it to but yes 5months ago I had none so it's a blessing. Thanks for your reply 😘

My hair is also curly and shows no sign of the curl loosening off.... Enjoy the change. Dont try and straighten as a friend of mine used straighteners and was left with a white line along it from the chemicals that were still in her hair.

Embrace it xx

You may find that your curl will grow out... Unfortunately it isnt one size fits all.  I had my last chemo in Nov 2014 and, after having very long hair, have learned to work with what i have now - using mousse when wet and then texturising cream once dry.   At least i can get ready quicker so can have that extra 20 mins in bed in the morning....there is always an upside.

Good luck and hope, your recovery continues x

Me too 😊 I am 5 years post total mastectomy and chemo and I love my curly hair! I would hate it if it went back to straight it's so easy! My curly hair de frizz tip is kerastase oleo curl creme, I also use VO5 ' give me moisture' oil BEFORE shampooing and don't wash my hair too often, maybe every 5-7 days! I love it, if anyone asks is it natural , I just say yes , no point in going into chemo bends the hair follicles mode! Hope you enjoy it too as it grows 😊
