Hi Mike. I know how scary this is. Please take your medicine. I’ve had seizures since brain surgery 20+ years ago and I’m the Neuro Rn and tech for 30+. When you have too much electricity it can scar the brain tissue. Take the Ativan. People are on it for years and they’re fine.

Keep on taking your Ativan!!! It's SO important! I would also suggest that you see your neurologist with regards to side effects and/or medication changes if necessary.

I take Phenytoin which apparently reduces the electricity by preventing me from having seizures. I have never had any need for surgery because medication changes did the trick for me 30+ years ago as a child.

Hi Mike7777,

I have had severe epilepsy 'all throughout my childhood' during that time my

parents were told never miss a single dose always mae sure that she does not ever miss out on her medication its SO important! But even when my seizures stopped at age 18 yrs, I HAVE STILL TOOK MY MEDICATION AND I HAVE BEEN FREE for 26 years now AND I AM STILL TAKING THEM. IF WE HAVE ANY QUESTIONS .... BEST TO ASK A NEUROLOGIST FIRST. BUT MUST KEEP TAKING OUR MEDS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!!!

IT ONLY TAKES A FEW MINUTES.
