Correct Testing

Hey, I just wanted to see if anyone has had a brain Aneurysm That was found on a non contrast ct scan or a non contrast mri. I’ve had both and they came back negative. But I’ve heard that usually you need a scan with contrast or even an MRA instead to see actually them. I didn’t know how true that was. I’m not one to worry over negative testing normally, but with this I just have a gut feeling something was missed.

Hi. I didnt find out about mine until it ruptured whilst I was 8 months pregnant. I was lucky that doctors were able to save me and my daughter so please demand more investigations if you have a gut feeling. Good luck

Hey! Thanks for replying. I’m so sorry to hear that but that’s great you had wonderful doctors. I’m now waiting to get an MRA done in the next week. Did you have any symptoms before yours ruptured or was it a complete shock?

I had been suffering headaches for 3 days before but gp treated me for sinus infection other than that it was a massive shock as even at 8 months pregnant I was at the fittest and healthiest id ever been. It was actually on my 21st birthday that it ruptured so this was 11 yrs ago now, I still get tired and get headaches and I am partially blind but am well apart from that. And my daughter is a healthy 11 yr old with no problems. I also had another baby 6 years ago, i had a planned c section as advised and had no complications. Im thankful for my family and to the amazing doctors. Good luck with your MRI and try not to worry to much. Let me know when you get your results.

Well I am so glad to hear you are both doing well after going through that! I will definitely let you know once I get them. Trying not to worry, but it’s definitely easier said than done. Thank you!
