Has anyone in the UK been offered/partaken in any group therapy, after a Sub Arachnoid Brain haemorrhage? I’ve felt totally unsupported for 7 years and the cycles of CBT have been ineffective. I just want to know if there’s alternatives, groups where you can actually process feelings together, in person and not online? Paul

The only place to go might be a Headway group in your area if any. This forum is very good for sharing. And if anyone lived near to you a meeting could be arranged. There's not many of us to go around!
I had a thought about some books that I found useful after my massive SAH in 2016.
Maria Ross REBOOTING MY BRAIN, (SAH); James Cracknell and wife TOUCHING DISTANCE, TBI; and Robert McCrum MY YEAR OFF & EVERY THIRD THOUGHT, (Stroke).
I still have 2 of them which I can post to you if you wish?
Hi, know how you feel. In desperation I found headway phone number and called it. Best thing I've ever done. I spent almost the first 2mins crying down the phone, I couldn't speak just so relieved someone was understanding me. I attend my local headway in gloucester now. The support is fantastic. I don't know the national phone number but please do look for it or a local one( might be difficult at moment)
Do try them they are brilliant.
Hope this helps xjx
I participated in group CBT, which I enjoyed it was good to interact with others during the sessions and get others perspectives it makes you feel not so alone which is a bonus, don’t get me wrong CBT one on one with a therapist I think would be better but this wasn’t an option for me so I took what I could at the time the group sessions for me still armed me with the tools to work through my anxiety and I use those tools every single day so I would say it was a positive experience definitely hope this helps, good luck with it!
