What is it that scares you? I am guessing here, but thinking that as you are on a two-yearly review programe the aneurysm is small and being managed under the 'wait and watch' approach.

That being so, if at your 2 year review they think it has changed in any way suggesting a problem, they will start talking about more direct approaches, such as coiling or clipping. Both of those havr risks - but nothing like the risks of a ruptured subdural haematoma which you have already suffered and come through successfully.

If the aneurysm has stayed small and appears to be behaving itself they will say 'see you again in 2 years!' And you will continue as now, living with it.

So I would suggest there is nothing there that could be anything like as scary as what you have already survived.

If you are scared of the unknown, try unpicking that a little. There isn't much in this whole aneurysm situarion that is unknown for you really - you have the T-shirt as far as this is concerned. And you can't really go around being scared of stuff you know nothing about (welll, you can, but that suggests an anxiety disorder which is a whole different issue).

So best wishes for your appointment. I hope that they tell you it is behaving and requires no further intervention. But should you need a further, planned procedure, rest assured that compared to SAH it will be a whole lot less scary and stressful for you.
