Revoked Licence

Does anyone know process for licence being revoked. I informed DVLA on B1 3 weeks ago. Do you have to have medical or is it a case of demonstrating no seizures /epilepsy or fits for 6 months. Does consultant write to approve back or is it independent doctors DVLA instruct? Sorry about all the questions

I am going to apply for my licence back in October as I had a one off seizure in April. I think you apply and give your consultants contact details then they contact the consultant. If consultant confirms no further seizures then there shouldn't be a problem.

I'd like to hear from someone who has gone through the process as to how quickly you can get back to driving after the 6 months as I imagine dvla and consultants will take some time to respond to each other /the applicant

I had SAH at the end of 2015 and had to give up my licence and not drive from March til September. I was able to reapply at the beginning of August but it still took them 10 months from then to issue the licence. Fortunately I had a form from DVLA telling me I could drive whilst my application was being considered. Good luck with it but expect to have to wait a long time.

Go to epilepsy.org. UK

I've just seen the info we need there

I have never had any fits, seizures or epilepsy and my aneurysm didn't burst so was hoping it would be shorter but I guess you have to wait that long to prove you won't have one

Oh sorry. I think I may have misled you. I had a fit due ro another hypoglycaemia. Nothing to do with the aneurysm. That was an incidental finding. I heard from someone on here that with an aneurysm it will depend what the con sultan thinks. As 8m n a watch and see policy I don't think the aneurysm will be a problem but I guess they'll still check with the consulrant

Hi, I was pretty much the same as you. I had a bleed in the brain and they injected me with meds that they knew would cause a siezure but it was last ditch saloon before they went into my brain. The meds worked but I lost my licence for a year.
