Morning

I am 2 months + pregnant and currently at the asylum center in Daresbury, the mid-wife hospital sent a letter but no midwife has been in contact .

Its not convenient here at the asylum living here, the food is not going well with me and i go some days drinking yoghurt or cereals ,i have been spotting and i sometime have headache. Spoke with GP concerning the headache and i was asked to take paracetamol.

I have had 3 pregnancies and i lost one, i also have hemoroid (pile ) which i have been managing for 6 years with proper diet. its coming out now as my tummy is protruding a gradually .

I want to know if the cereal and yoghurt is safe for my condition.

Regards.

Tutu

Hi dear, I am sorry you find yourself in a difficult situation. I understand that you might not feel like eating "normal" food, I remember the first 3 months I was disgusted by almost everything and I was having plain pasta, rice and potatoes almost every day. What kind of food do you find in the centre? I wonder if it would not be possible to talk to people in charge to see if they can prepare simpler variants of the meals for you considering the situation. Anyway, as far as I heard talking with other pregnant women and reading forums like this I think many women have a very basic diet and go several days with things like milk and cereals in the first 3 months, so I wouldn't stress too much about it. Apparently babies can find the nutrients they need from whatever you manage to eat. Of course as soon as you feel like eating something else it will be good to reintroduce a varied diet. I also understand the piles problem, as I suffer from it too, it's very annoying. I think over the counter medications for piles should be safe in pregnancy, but worth checking with the gp. I am sure the midwife will get in touch soon for your first appointment (I had mine around 11 weeks) and then you can talk to her about all your concerns in more depth.

Sorry I cannot offer a real medical advice but I just wanted to share the little I know/was told during my pregnancy and tell you you are not alone.

I hope you get to see the midwife soon and things get better! Let me know how it goes.

xxx
