implantation bleed or normal withdrawal bleed

Hi everyone i’m really stressing out and i hope someone can help.

i started the combined yasmin pill around 20/02/21. i have taken each pill at the exact same time. i just keep thinking i haven’t becuase of anxiety (i keep thinking when i have taken it i haven’t swallowed it or i’ve dropped it). i had sex using e pill as my only protection on 26/03/21, 31/03/21 and 8/04/21, 9/04/21. i’m on my 7 day break now and had spotting like period on day 3 and have bled a little more on day 4 but i only seem to bleed when i urinate? which is very unusual compared to my last withdrawal bleed which was on the pad and light/medium flow. the blood is dark red but sometimes looks as though as it’s mixed with dishcharge. also on day 4 something odd came out my vagina- i can only describe it as a long cyclinder of discharge that was extremely heavy (sank into toilet water) which has freaked me out.

i’m way to scared to do a pregnancy test. can i have some advice?

If you've taken your pill correctly chances are that you're not pregnant. The pill can make your periods different and lighter, a lot of people take them just because their periods is heavy and they want them to be lighter.I know when I swapped pills once my period was so different I was convinced I was pregnant, but when I tested it was negative and the next month my period began more normal. The only way to check if you're really worried is to take a test though. Good luck

if i take a test now will it be accurate ? since i’m not sure if this is my period or not

If it's when you're normal monthly period would be due then it will be accurate as you can take a pregnancy test from the day your period is due for an accurate result so if you've already been spotting /bleeding for a few days then your already passed your due on date.

i was due on yesterday and have had a bleed thinking of taking one tomorrow- shoukd that be okay

I would probably get the test tomorrow and then wait till the following day so you can use your first urine of the day as that's when if you were pregnant, your HCG levels would be strongest so will give you the most accurate result.

right okay thanks very nervous to do so since i have an exam on that day in school would be heartbroken if it came back negative

Then you could definitely wait until another day to test, if you've already got a stressful day ahead. It's very unlikely that if you've been taking your pills correctly that you'd be pregnant. The pill is over 90% effective at preventing pregnancy when taken correctly and if you've had a bleed when you're due on and not during your cycle it's very unlikely to be implantation bleeding as this would normally be slightly before your period is due. Also implantation bleeding isn't normally dark red blood, it's normally a pinkish colour and not dark red blood as it's only a very small amount of blood. Good luck though, hope you're ok xx

my blood is dark red however it’s just not on my pad only when i wipe

It sounds like it could just be a light period, if you've been taking the pill for a few months or might be that part of being on the pill had made your period lighter.

Bit confused... Are using Yasmin or the emergency pill? If using Yasmin correctly you shouldn't use epill. If you're using epill depends on the type timing etc, but you really shouldn't be having some many emergency pills and instead should get proper contraception as epill are not as safe, some can't be used more than once in the same cycle and will definitely mess your period up.

oh sorry i’m using yasmin and have to my knowledge been using them correctly for 2 packets but i have quite back anxiety so keep thinking i haven’t taken them if i hey makes sense hence why i’m worried about this bleed(hopeful period) i have now

Ah ok so no emergency pill? (E pill) periods can be a little different over time as well as on the pill. Doesn't mean you're pregnant. Can affect your discharge as well. If you're worried about taking it maybe ask you gp/ family planning for something more long term, however these can not give you a period at all.or irregular bleeding but are the safest in terms of contraception.

Yes absolutely... Your post said e pill (maybe a typo) so confused me.

aaa sorry. do you think i should have a reason to worry then? although i didn’t use a condom and used the pull out method and am on the combined yasmin pill i can’t be sure

Highly unlikely if you're taking it properly. I was in various pills for about over 10years, never got pregnant, and I know I'm fertile as conceived three babies within first month of trying each time. So the pill certainly works!

thanks so much! thinking of taking a test just for peace of mind i’m such a bag of nerves that must be the problem a few years ago i lost too much sleep thinking i was pregnant when i hadn’t even had sex. need to calm my anxiety

Hmm maybe you need to have a look at some websites like MIND, and possibly options of CBT as the anxiety will wear you down. Also as I mentioned earlier you can get things like coils and implants which are very effective, you don't need to remember to take so might help put your mind at ease, maybe?

just a quick update done a test after feeling extremely nauseous and avoiding food all day (very unlike me) and came back negative. however i did drink some water before this and only had enough pee for about 3/4 second stream (but tab was completely pink) so is this a reliable result ? planning to do another friday morning but just glad it was negative
