Hello Dr.,

This is Thanikachalam, am pleasing your medical advise on about my pregnancy wife. She is carrying 6 months fetus. As per scan report, the liquor quantity is slightly more. Due to this, the Doctor advised us to take Sugar test. But in 3 months back the test was taken and found no sugar.

Pls advise, is it necessary to take the Sugar test to my wife.

Thanks,

Thanikachalam M

I totally agree with the previous poster... you need to take the sugar test again. Gestation is a highly complex physiological process where a lot of rapid changes takes place. So, 3 months is good enough a time for blood glucose to spike up to the diabetic levels. Oh and blood sugar levels if not directly can trigger a lot of psychopathology.... there's really no point taking chances when pregnant.
