Can anyone suggest another type of contraception.

Iv been on the implant since Feb this year. Everything was going fine until October I had sort of periods every 2 weeks for a week at a time. Until about 2 weeks ago and this one hasn’t stopped. It’s getting me down. I want to go onto something else but my doctor said it’s the only thing I can be on while trying to lose weight (after another doctor put me on injection and made me gain about 4 stone).

Can anyone suggest another type of contraception to go onto where I could potentially get pregnant right away once it’s stopped (looking at next year or year after). I’m going to go to the doctor in the new year.

Condoms sound a better option if you want to resume TTC and have success without much wait. Something similar like cervical cap or diaphragm will be helpful too - look for physical barriers instead of hormonal contraception. That's the only one without the side-effects and have no effect at all on fertility. So, whenever you want to get back to TTC there won't be a need to wait for the body to get back to baseline.
