Medical or vacuum

I'm not diagnosed yet with hypertension but at times is higher than normal, can I have still medical abortion? And if not can I still have vacuum abortion on the same day when I have my consultation? Or I have to wait for another appointment?

Hi There,

It would be best to have the consultation, as blood pressure is checked then, and if you have logged your previous pressures (or your GP has) take that info with you, and the clinician on the day will work out if you are suitable for treatment. Bpas policy is if a woman is not suitable for treatment with us we will find an NHS hospital treatment, and get her placed with them. Go along to the appointment and take it from there.

Best Wishes

Jules
