Various veins and nearly 19 weeks pregnant

I'm nearly 19 weeks pregnant and for the past 11 years I've been suffering with various veins. I have 6 children already and constanly begging the docs to see to my legs as I'm constaly on antibiotics for infections, but they won't help me.

I can't walk properly, limping all the time and the pain is so much i can be standing or sitting or doing chores and I'll just cry or fall with the pain 😕 I have at least 5 episode's of cramping every night and im at the point ehere i cant take any more. They just tell me to rest but it's impossible with 6 other children, chores and house to look after and my husband isn't one of those men that will help or take over for me .

I don't know what to do as I've got to the point whereI just want to give up and do nothing. I caught for this baby due to antibiotics so wasn't planned as I know i would suffer even more, I'm starting to hate this baby already due to constantly being in pain and unable to do what many monthers can't. My docs have said it's classed as cosmetic surgery now and I prob won't get the surgery I need but I can no longer cope with the pain and struggle carrying this extra weight already.

I don't know what to do

Hi There,

I'm sorry to hear you are so distressed. I would make an urgent GP/midwife appointment and talk through how you are feeling mentally/emotionally, as this sounds like more than just cosmetics. It might also be worth asking your midwife to check your iron levels as you are feeling so drained. Do tell the healthcare professionals exactly how you are feeling, and not coping as then hopefully they will action some help for you. Hope you get some help.

Best Wishes

Jules

I've managed to get an appointment this morning after arguing with the receptionist as they said no more appointments left. I had to give her the ins and outs of my problem just to get to see him and I tried midwife but can't see her till tomorrow.

I can bearly walkas I explained to the lady on the phone but still have to walk down.

I'm 19 weeks tomorrow and I don't feel right either, not even felt the baby as yet 😕 so wanting to get that checked also, don't get me wrong I had a chat with my sis in law and mentally I'm feeling better, only took 4 hours of talking and crying lol but after speaking to her I am feeling worried.

Hi There,

That's good that you got an appointment today! Tell the GP all these things, and hopefully they can push for the midwife to check you over asap. She could also ensure you are not experiencing pregnancy (ante-natal) depression. Tell the GP about lack of baby movement as that is important to be checked today. Hopefully they will come up with a plan of support for you. Good luck.

Best Wishes

Jules

I will be, thank you.

It's just upsetting that I have 6 other children to look after and I'm unable/struggling to do so at the moment and it's upsetting
