What to do?

I am currently at BMI 34.9 and trying my best to lose weight, I have a high chance of polycystic ovaries and produce up to 8 eggs a month (Menstruation often occurs between 10 and 28 days) this means I have no gauge on my ovulation. I am in a committed relationship and we have a very healthy sex life, we have had 4 cases where the condom has either slipped off, my diaphragm has slipped or the condom was sucked due to a contraction in the last 6 months.

The doctors tell me the only form of contraception I am allowed is condoms (the pop pills give me 1 - 2 day migraines). I really don't know what to do any more. Eating 800 - 1000 calories a day and doing over 2 hours of intense exercising every other day and the weight isn't moving.

Also, I was on the combined pill from aged 11 - 18 then I was took off half way through a cycle which my body still hasn't fully recovered from after 3 years as during that time my periods worked like clock work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

K

Hi there

Have you visited your GP for blood tests and an ultrasound to confirm a diagnosis of polycystic ovaries?

If you want a new form of contraception you would be okay using the cooper coil or IUS. I think it would be an idea for you to book a consultation at a contraceptive clinic as you appear to have received some confusing advice.

I hope this helps

Best wishes

Katherine
