i am 16 and soon to be 17. I was worried if i am pregnant, do i contact my gp to look into abortion as i do not think i am capable of keeping a child? And can my gp keep it private as i do not want my family or friends to know?

Hi there, you can talk to your GP and they will absolutely keep it confidential. You can also contact bpas or Marie Stopes directly, as they will be able to provide advice and abortion care and most of the women they see funded by the NHS (so you don't have to pay. All they may ask for is your GP address. ) If they cannot treat you for free they will tell you how to access NHS services. And don't forget Brook, who don't provide abortions directly but can provide advice and refer you straight into a service if that's what you want. Hope this helps, take care

Brook Advisory are very good, and can also help address your contraception needs in order to prevent unwanted pregnancies in the future.
