Cramping upper abdominal and lack of flactulence

Hi im new here but thank you for taking the time to read. Around june time i experienced burning sensation in the middle of my abdomen which radiated to my upper back. After eating it went away but a few days later i woke up to feeling badly constipated. I could not release gas or stool throughout the whole day. The following day i had diarreah most the day. After that i bowel movements went back to normal but i still felt like i had trapped wind with occasional knots in my upper abdominal. But i noticed i hardly have flactulence now. I used to suffer from bad flactulence, at least 20 times a day. Now i have 3 to 5 a day. I have had a blood test done which was all clear no anemia, stool test to check for blood which was clear, had a calprotectin stool test which come back 107. I was told its mildly elevated. Does anyone have any ideas or gone through something similar? Im waiting to have a colonoscopy.

Hi there , welcome aboard, what you describe could be a few things , the burning sensation I can relate to as I have ulcerative colitis , but it will show when you have the camera down , good luck.

Thanks for the reply. What symtoms did you have if you dont mind me asking. Also you say a number of things do you mind sharing. All these changes has caused me so much anxiety that ive lost my appetite and have gone google overdrive. Last night was bad anxiety wise as i was counting how many times i would have flactulence. I was so nervous i was blocked up as i only had flactulence 3 times. I woke up and had flactulence 3 times so that gave me some comfort and also had a bowel movement. I get so many opinions from different gps as one wasnt too concerned with my calprotectin as he said its only mildly elevated. But another gp was worried.

Hi there, I was bleeding from back passage, my GP thought it was a pile but I had bladder and bowel dysfunction previously through cervical myelopathy but when that was sorted I had camera down which showed ulcerative colitis ,a while before I had camera down which showed that I had a polyip which was removed , what I remember was bloating , burning pain , bleeding, I now have medication to keep the collitis under control and im under hospital as there is no cure unfortunately , hope I have answered what you need to know , wait till you have had camera they told me what they had found during the process.

Hi longsider just to update you ive had my colonoscopy and was told there was nothing he found unsual no inflammation nothing. I also had a ct scan which showed mild diverticulosis but he said it looked very mild. Apart from that scan did not show anything. I also had a upper endoscopy which was all clear apart from mild gastritis. Ive had a ultrasound also which was all clear. After all of this i still have symptoms.

Hi there, that is good news they haven't found anything , it's a worry when you have that procedure as they tell you as they are doing it , I still have to take the medication for life for the ulcerative colitis just another tablet to go with the others I take for my cervical myelopathy. Clive.
