What are the pros and cons of Foster and is it prescribed for ostopenia?
Fosteo: What are the pros and cons of Foster and... - Bone Health
Hi Labradog, usually, Forsteo (teriparitide) is only prescribed in England if you are over 65 with one fracture or under 65 with two fractures - and even then it is at the discretion of the consultant. I have had three confirmed OP fractures and initially my consultant was going to prescribe the bisphosphonate infusion but I asked for teriparitide instead, which he agreed to - most likely because my BMD is very low and risk of further fracture high. So I think it's highly unlikely you would be prescribed Forsteo at this time.
