LOL Know the feeling, Olive! ;) I was not told to cut down the heel size, but knew in myself that I was not safe anymore other than in really sensible shoes so the heels went a long time ago. I do still have one pair with a kitten heel and the rest are all sensible and comfortable shoes/boots. Now I would rather be comfortable and usually wear trousers/jeans so what the heck! I have also lost height so that does not help. I was 5' 8" and then with the heels looked very tall. Now I am 5' 2 1/2 ". Hey ho! I am 67 at the end of this year. I have a wonderful husband, two lovely grand children and am busy so I am fairly happy with my lot and tend not to go shopping for myself much but prefer to spend it on others. I also do not look too much in the mirror! ;) :)

At 4ft 4in my heels were my life, not for work through safety clogs/shoes

Mind you going for a scan in 3in heels did not help

Doctor gave me a lecture after he saw my records.

OP on both sides of family , taking high dose steroids 30mg daily at that time to treat GCA only taking 3mg daily now.

Have 15year-old granddaughter we are going shopping for me on Saturday she will keep a tight leash on me mind you she will do anything for a trip to local carvery Iam a very bad Nan

I like your sense of humour, olive. :) Best way to be really. We are allowed to spoil our grand children, aren't we?

Enjoy your shopping trip and the local carvery! Our 9 year old grand daughter loves going to have lunch or dinner in our local pub. Suits me! ;) That was what she wished to do when she stayed over on Saturday night. :)

Olive and Kaarina,

Our granddaughter is almost 21 and she still loves being taken out for lunch. We can't go to a carvery with her or our daughter though as they are both vegetarians. It's still not always easy to find eating places that have more than one or two vegetarian options though.

As you said Kaarina, going out for a meal suits me too! 😉
