Update on Dental Implant Surgery
Tooth extracted, implant inserted with some
bone
graft
. Not pleasant but it didn’t hurt at all. Followed the hygiene instructions to the letter. Lived on cheesy mash, eggs and other soft food for a week. Lost 5lb 😂Went back to 3.5 mg pred the day after, then 3mg since.

A tooth with a life of it's own!
But this very young oral surgeon from UCLA, says since I've been off the bisphosphonates for 5 + years, the surgery,
bone
graft
, and an implant should be no problem. I'm currently tapering from 3.5 to 3.0 on my pred. I'm very nervous about all this.

ankle fusion
However it has become increasingly painful and I have trouble walking on it, following an x Ray it was found that the pins had come loose and the bones haven’t healed back so I was told an ankle fusion would be the best thing to have which might also need a

Had circumcision, the “important stitch” popped (Dorsal slit).
Got a circumcision From day 2 after taking the wrap off I noticed a small open wound created by one of the sutures leading into the prepuce near the corona. as well as sutures with strange knot formations with smaller less noticeable wounds. One of the strange knot formations is where the open cut

Skin cancer
I am now in my mid-sixties and was diagnosed with CLL four years; I remain on watch and wait. Lorazepam experiences for one-off use
hi Just wondering if anybody has experience of taking a small dose of lorazepam before a surgical procedure done under a local anaesthetic. I am having a MOHs procedure for skin cancer (bcc) on my nose in two weeks and quite frankly I am terrified. the procedure involves taking layers and examining

Always the unexpected!
I recently had to have surgery on my face for Basal Cell Carcinomas (a not too drastic skin problem from sun damage). As I have multiple health issues the surgeon decided on a general anaesthetic to do skin grafts. I checked in and when the anaesthetist saw me I asked if he had seen the letter from

Dental Surgery and bone graft needed. Will prednisone inhibit the bone graft from taking?
She advised that I should have surgery to clean out the infection, cap off the root on that tooth and the one beside it that previously had a root canal and put in a
bone
graft
. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this and if prednisone inhibits the
bone
graft
from taking?

nose rec onstruction
I recently had a successful procedure to remove an SCC from the right side of my nose. This meant that I also had about 50% of the right side also removed. I am waiting for 9 sessions of radiotherapy and when that is over and my skin has settled I then have to make a decision on future treatment: 1

Operations
I was just wondering if anyone has gone through an operation that's nothing to do with your liver. I have two fingers on my right hand that are completely bent over and I have no movement. The hospital gave me four options:- 1. leave it as it is. 2. A slight operation that could partially make them straight

Having a STEMI in mid 40's...the search for underlying causes / answers for premature CHD.
Hi Everyone, My husband had a major STEMI in March 2023 with a full blockage of his circumflex artery. He was 44 years old and playing 5-a-side football in a local sports centre when he collapsed without warning. Thank goodness it happened there of all places however, as the swift actions of his team

It's my turn now....
I've been on the waiting list since November '23 and now this afternoon I am being admitted to hospital for a CABG x5 tomorrow (12th April) - hopefully no last minute cancellation. Had a heart attack and stents back in 2019 and was blue lighted into hospital so no time to think about what was happening

Dentists
Hi everyone-I am due to have CABG July/August. I have a routing check up at dentist this month. I have read somewhere of a link between teeth/gums and heart disease. What are the risks, if any? Is there any chance of dental treatment delaying the heart operation? Thanks

Burning pain in right armpit (CABG 10/18/23)
Hi everybody!I had my CABG done last Oct and was wondering if anyone else has experienced a burning shooting pain in one or both of their armpits? It started about a month or so ago in my right armpit and has continously gotten a little stronger over time.

Low heart rate
12 days ago my husband had a log hit him in the shin whilst splitting logs. At the time it came up like a tennis ball but other than that didn’t think too much of it. The swelling has gone down but he is getting pain in his leg. Not the leg they harvested from for his CABG x5). Eventually we decided

Tomorrow I get my Cardiac CT Results
I was hoping that I could reverse my plaque scores but after reading a medical journal, I will now be happy with status quo. This is what it states: Coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG) have been proposed to accelerate native coronary atherosclerosis. In patients with established coronary artery disease
