Vertigo waking up

I have had two incidents of the room moving (e.g. wardrobe moving sideways) when I open my eyes after waking. I am still lying down and have not been on my feet. Later checking Blood Pressure was quite high (150). Could high BP cause vertigo? Or, was it vertigo?

if you go to the NHS website you’ll find info on vertigo - but on this website we aren’t diagnosticians!

If it is indeed vertigo you can get something from the pharmacist which will help, and it should gradually fade.

Drink PLENTY of water, which helps keep your blood pressure down and also helps vertigo.

If I have a BP spike it can give me symptoms akin to Vertigo, mine is caused by any caffeine intake which I now avoid like the plague.

when my husband had Covid last year and was unwell I experienced vertigo on waking as I was very worried about him. GP said it was stress which caused my B/P to rocket. Not had it since. See your GP.
