Amlodipine and multivitamins

- has anyone noticed a difference when taking multivitamins with their BP meds? I’m lying on the sofa feeling my heart in my ears, and my BP is elevated higher than normal, and whilst this seems to be a recent development, I have also just started taking Centrum Advance multivitamin tablets. A quick google tells me that there could be interaction between the vitamin tablets and amlodipine, but was wondering if anyone else had experienced such a phenomenon?

I take Amlodipine and I also take certain individual vitamins (multivitamins tend to contain too little of anything to help any low levels, and the ingredients can compete with each other, if iron is included it affects the absorption of the other ingredients) and have no problems.

However, don't take them at the same time, maybe take at opposite ends of the day to avoid, or at least minimise, any interactions.

I have been on Amlodipine for over 10 years and I take various supplements but I’ve not had any issues. I would check with your GP to be on the safe side.
