Thiazide Diuretics

Hello. I discovered I have high blood pressure in March this year. I tried Ramipril 2.5mg but I noticed tinnitus developing, plus it wasn’t effective so I changed to amlodipine 5mg, not effective, increased dose to 10mg, ankles started swelling plus palpitations, plus not hugely effective, so switched to Losartan 50mg, no obvious side effects after 4 weeks, but BP still too high, so I asked about combining it with another drug rather than increasing dose, and doctor prescribed Indapamide, which I haven’t started yet as I wanted to wait until after the weekend as I had a party to go to and wasn’t sure how it would effect me, especially with alcohol. I’ve read some reviews and am worried now about side effects, but every drug I’ve tried seems to have nightmarish reviews, so maybe I should just stop reading them!! Has anyone else taken Indapamide alongside Losartan? Any experience of these drugs would be welcome. Many thanks.

Maybe your problem is your reading too much on possible side effects. Bin the leaflet, most don't happen. You're worry too much about side effects it's in your head

Hardly likely rampiril 2.5g caused Tinnitus, its a low dose. Side effects happen, and after a few weeks hopefully settle down. Try giving a month before changing meds.
