Ramipril

I️ recently started taking ramipril due to having a small blood clot in my heart and having type 2 diabetes. I️ have only been taking them a week and wondered how long it would take before I️ saw some effect. On another note I️ have been experiencing headaches since I️ started them.

I️ had a stress and resting test where they wired me up to an ecg machine and monitored my heart. They then injected me with a dye and had to go

through a scanner (myocardial perfusion scan). All this was done on 2 separate days

I have just stopped Ramapril. The side effects were horrendous especially the persistent cough.

Re my previous reply I too had headaches and insomnia. My BP increased as well.
