Hypertension Me

Hi I have had severe hypertension for a number of years now, my GP cannot control it. He reffered me to a Cardiologist and I had a echocardiogram, the results showed my heart wall is thicker than it should be.

I'm pretty new to high blood pressure. What would you consider severe?

What have you tried beyond medication? Yoga, excersise, low salt diet, meditation?

You asked what I class as severe, if your blood pressure is constantly above 200 Systolic Pressure that is classsed as an Hypertensive crisis. My blood pressure is constantly above this, my GP has tried different medication which is not working. I have been referred to a specialist. They did a echocardiogram which showed I have an enlarged heart, I am awaiting the results of a genetic blood test regarding my heart.

Apologies for the delay in replying, I've just come out of hospital after suffering a major heart attack. My diet is something I have never watched, I eat alot of junk food and frozen meals.

Apologies for the delay in replying. My GP has reffered me to a Cardiologist, I wore a 24hr BP monitor, which showed an average BP of 217/163 and a heart rythmn of 139. I then had an echocardiogram done which showed that I have an enlarged heart. I am awaiting for another appointment with the Cardiologist.

Oh my! A heart attack! So sorry about this recent turn of events, but so happy you survived and are writing back to us! Hoping your doctors can get it all sorted out. Please keep us posted.

Just checking in to see how you are doing? Were you able to get your blood pressure down and are things going ok after the heart attck?

My Blood Pressure is still high, I had an appointment with the Doctor today and it was 263/190 she was extremely concerned. She is making arrangements for me to go back into hospital to get this treated as an urgent priority. Regarding my heart, I have an appointment with the Cardiologist on August 29th. I will keep you posted, regarding my progress. I want to thank you so much for your concern, it warms my heart to know that there are decent caring people like you in this world. Thank you.

Hi I have just come out of Hospital after a severe episode of Super Ventricular Tachycardia, my heart was beating at 200 beats per minute. They slowed it down with intravenous drugs. My blood pressure is still sky high, I've just checked it and it's 240/182. I have an appointment with the Cardiologist on the 29th August. I will keep you posted on how I get on. Hello. I had read ur reply just and its new to me that carbs increases bp. Is it so? I ate carbs too much. Second what is high insulin how it can increase bp ? Cos I had heard insulin is related to diabetes so how insulin can increase bp? Kindly reply in detail.

At the hypertension clinic l supply with bp gear there was a female celebrity with a pressure of 298/270! She autographed a cuff for me. She wrote Oops my pressures up again.
