just a update on my blood pressure I've been put on another tablet today ramipril to help bring my bp down that's 4 tablets now .....oh dear!!! today my bp was 152/112 my sistolic had come down but my distolic always stays high see if this tablet helps fingers crossed

This isn't too awful but as you say the diastolic is a bit high. Try not to fret about it, it always seems to make things worse.

I find reading the many replies assuring as I can see what a varied symptom high BP is. I am on medication for many many years (Isobertran 150mg/Bisoprolol 5mg daily) and on an ordinary none eventful day may BP is acceptable (between 145-155/75-80). But the slightest emotional demand (even a difficult phone call) will raise the systolic to something like 170-190 (and higher at times). I can bring it down a bit but it scares me and I wonder what is the point of all this medication when the rise can be swift and severe. Do other people have similar experiences? I have probably written a post like this before; so apologies if I am repeating myself. And what is Ramipril like to take? thank you ?Aloisia

took my first ramipril today so far so gd but it can cause kidney problems so have to have a blood test in a week to make sure all is fine....., for me I'm on 4 different tablets If I dint take my tablets my bp goes dangerously high .

In my case I also find any slight emotional pressure sends mine soaring (both of them), even something I'm looking forward to (like meeting up with friends) sends my numbers sky high. I've learned not to worry about it and to accept that its just how I'm made. I hope your new tablet helps.
