Just in case this is of interest to anyone:-

The warm home discount of £130 credit towards your electricity bill is open to new applications for people on low income or certain benefits. Phone numbers are as follows:-

British Gas (credit customers) 0800 072 8625

British Gas (prepayment meters) 0800 294 8604

EDF Energy 0800 096 9000

Eon 0800 051 1480

NPower 0808 172 6999

Scottish Power 0800 027 2700

Scottish & Southern 0800 300 1111

I have no other information about this and have just copied the info from what has been sent to me (including the phone numbers). You will probably be able to find out more from their websites or by giving them a ring.

It is now £135

For those receiving the qualifying benefits, there is no need to apply as the payment will be given automatically. You will get a letter about this at the end of the year.

It's an annual payment, need to apply each year unless you receive certain benefits entitling you to it automatic. Nice to see more companies involved in it now. Details can be found on the individual websites of the companies and you can initially apply on line with some companies, but thanks for the telephone details Libby.
