Race for life,or no.?

I really want to do the race for life this year.albeit very slowly.

My daughters friend at work lost her battle with cancer this week.and I just feel that if we all did our bit,one day they may be able to save more lives that are taken by this indiscriminate disease.

My other half says I must be mad.i need to look after myself.

My daughter is behind me every step.so much so,that she's doing it with me.

Obviously I don't want to cause myself any further health issues by doing it.which I don't think I will.

Anyone else on here done this walk for such a brilliant cause.

Anyone else got any ideas, either for or against.

Thank you.x

Only you know your limits Fantasy3, if you can do the distance usually, even if you do it slowly then all will be well, but if you struggle to walk a few meters on an average day then I think you would be best leaving it to your daughter, you also need to be aware that being in a crowd where there maybe others who have colds ect you risk catching one & ending up ill, I think the idea is admirable but be aware of the pit falls. xx Karen

I think it is a marvelous thing and I am sponsoring 3 people so far I can't say no. Does your husband know it is not really a race and that you can walk the course? If you think you are up to it I say give it a go obviously not putting yourself at risk. Can you not have a word with your GP/Nurse and see what they advise. Of course if your husband so wishes he could always do it in your place :D

If you are comfortable with it, do it! Perhaps have a Plan B.

If you start to feel its too much, you ring your husband and he comes for you.

I don't give in either!

Good on you for trying Fantasy3. Just remember, though, it isn't a race. If you start to struggle pull out. It won't mean that you have quit, just that you are being sensible. However far you get your friend would be proud of you. I wish you all the luck in the world sweetheart. Now take care. Love from Bobby. xx
