I am new to the site and so keen to learn from others.I have recently been diagnosed with COPD and I aso have fibrosis in my right lung that doctors say may have been caused by radiation treatment I had some years ago for breast cancer.

My GP has suggested a salt pipe might help with my breathing?

I used one for three months and it didn't help. I know someone who swears by it and says it is brilliant. Holland and Barratt do one if you don't want to order on line i think you can trust them

Can't answer your question Divaanne, sorry, but it's nice to hear of a GP with an open mind, you hear so much of complementary and "alternative" treatments being dismissed by a lot of the medical profession. Do let us know if you get one and how you get on.

As a P.S. to my previous post, as you can't edit them, I remember Dr Chris Steele mentioning salt pipes on This Morning some time ago and he was singing their praises. If you google you should be able to find a video of it.

Better still if you can get to a SALT CAVE: do you have one in your area?-check online.

I do urge you to try and get this treatment-all it involves is lying for an hour at a time in a reclining chair in a salt-lined space-then fine particles of rock salt are pumped into the room-you can taste the salt on your tongue very soon and by the end of a session

feel relief in your chest. Best to book 10 sessions if possible and try to get a reduced deal-it's a great investment.

It is standard practice in Russia and Eastern Europe, known as Halotherapy, for lung and skin complaints and is hugely beneficial: recorded data of proven results is available.
