Is it just my computer?

Has anyone else noticed that within blogs there are blue, underlined words which when you hover the mouse over display an advert?

Not for me. I'm using Firefox but I don't know if that makes any difference. I also use Adblock but that doesn't make any difference if it's on or off.

Thanks Puff - I use Google Chrome and it's only just started happening - will run a scan on AVG and see what comes up. In my question above, I can see the word 'display' as blue and underlined !

How strange, I use Chrome too but have never had that happen. A while ago my whole post came out underlined though, it was blue at first then turned black, then it disappeared after an hour or so (the underlining, that is!). Gremlins!

Thanks id2409 - just sorted the problem out now - appeared to have picked up a 'something' that places adverts everywhere I go - little pixie - it's been told to 'do one' and it seems it has! My mouse had better not have babies - no room on the desk ! :)

Google for 'chrome adblock' and install it from the Chrome store. Should get rid of the annoying ads. Other way is to check in installed programs, what's been added without you knowing?

That's where I found it Gordon, tacked on to a program I had installed to be able to download a font I was searching for. Uninstalled the program and went hunting for the add on and uninstalled that too; thanks for the advice. :)

I hope you can get rid of it too ! It appeared on Facebook too and when I hovered over it it showed what the add on was called so went to add/remove programs, found it and deleted it. Best of luck and glad I asked the question now. :)
