glad it did it's suprising how fast it works, i've suffered with bronchitis since childhood, which now has become copd and emphacema, plus i also suffer from chronic heart failure & unstable angina, amongst other aches and pains. But i digress i find that a lot of simple age old remedies do actually work, sometimrs better than than the drugs we get prescribed, did you know that a mint and juniper infusion will help break up catargh if drank before bed, trouble is you sound like fog horn in the morning it works that well, i go dizzy with the coughing.

right you can try water in your neb if you have one this will help loosen and hopefully bring it up. you can try to get a person to pat your back lightly in tapping motion around the lung area. also if and sounds silly try lowering your chest head neck over the side of sofa or bed when lying down also someone tapping back can help. gravity helps move it this way,

ask your dr about mucrond tablets from your dr's these are mucus thinners, also all the above can be used with no ill effect on your meds or o2 use.

also you are able to take with your meds over the counter mucus thinner medince

Sorry to hear this Meg, makes you feel really ill doesn't it when your lungs are so clogged up? remember to drink plenty

Cofdrop recommended a steam inhaler to me, one where you breathe through a mouthpiece, it's really good, betterware.co.uk/breathe-ea... & came very quickly

I had one which I got from Boots but it wasn't as good, this one keeps the water much hotter for longer

Meanwhile you could try some huffing exercises: a few gentle breaths, then some deep ones (holding your breath for a few seconds at the top of each breath, this helps get the air behind the mucus to expel it), then do a few quick forced huffs similar to when you use a peak flow meter. If you google "huffing exercise" you'll see how it's done. It helps move the mucus further up your airways so you can then cough it up more easily.

get well soon Meg
