Hi Meg, I do sympathise. My wife and I live in a 1st floor flat and I have stage 4 COPD.

I've been trying without success to get downstairs, ( where I have an electric buggy ), since two weeks before Xmas. I have portable O2 bottles but lack the strength to do the stairs.

Ann, my wife, says well it's much too cold for you anyway, but as you say I feel trapped.

I can sit by the window, very nice, but I want to get out there.

So we got to think of things to do to take our minds of it.

I'll check back later see how your doing - at least we have company.

Good luck,

Chris

I live alone,so at the mo have to rely on a fiend to take me shopping on a Saturday,I feel this winter is never going to end ,I long for some warm weather,I hate staying in

Must live in Whitby, home of Dracula ? Having "a fiend" to take you shopping :D

I am looking forward to getting out again myself, but am even fearful of opening the door to let the dog in when it's so cold, that cold air really hits the old lungs !

I can sympathise as I've felt much the same the last few weeks. Through attending a court hearing I made myself much worse with pleurisy from being in the cold air for a while. I don't like it when I hurt just trying to breathe, and it really digs when I cough or sneeze.

So, I've been nowhere. Stayed in. Wife wanted me to drive to the supermarket, she'd do the shopping, but I simply don't want to go out in it in case it makes me any worse.

At least it is something we can sense, telling us not to go out when it's so cold. We know why.

Yes ur right gordon, it was a mistake to go out today ,but I had my rent, gas ,electric to pay, as. I live alone wat can I do? It's just a struggle to breathe in the freezin air isn't it?

Its easier breathing in the freezing air if you put a scarf round your nose and mouth.
