Smokers, Stop Beating Yourselves Up.

I have never been a smoker but I still ended up with knackered lungs so even though your smoking certainly increases the likelyhood of lung disease there is no guarantee of escaping it. If you are a smoker I would definitely recommend you stop but you know that anyway. Tony. I wish everyone who reads this good health.

Well said. When will people realise that smoking does not cause COPD, it makes a bad situation worse, i.e. if you have lung damage from an illness (whooping cough for one), then smoking is increasing the damage. If smoking caused COPD, then a hell of a lot more people would have it ... all the smoking population.

Smoking is actually the major cause of COPD.

Tis a good post, I have never smoked either, I've had my troublesome lung condition all my life. Doctors used to keep telling me to stop smoking.... but I have never smoked !
