Hi Everybody

I hope everyone is well in this cold cold weather.

The BBC programme Bang Goes The Theory is a science programme - tonight they are looking at germs, how infections are transmitted and antibiotics.

I know it isn't a cheery thought but they will be looking at how viruses etc are passed on through contact on public transport etc.

Hopefully people watching this will cough/sneeze into tissues or the crook of their elbow to reduce infections being passed on.

Cheers

When people openly cough and sneeze on public transport I feel like putting a thick plastic bag over their head, and securing it with a cable tie round the neck. :x

Maybe I need more cable ties, to fasten the crook of their elbow over their mouth ? :O

Yes, I have a bus pass. When I could use it I used to dread going on the buses because of this problem.

It's not just that, even those who put their hand to their mouth then wipe it on the back of a seat or the poles you hold on to.

Sounds like I need to go out in one of those head to toe 'White suits'.

The programme seemed to show that there's no evidence that people who travel on public transport get more colds and flu than people who don't, which I thought was quite reassuring. I'm not so worried about going on a plane either, because, again, the evidence showed that the air is changed and refreshed much more regularly than any other environment, so is no more unsafe than anywhere else.
