So sorry to hear the Richard Briers has passed away, I read on the Internet that he had been struggling with lung disease for some time.

Sadly he had suffered from emphysema for years. I for one, am looking forward to a re-run of "The Good Life"!

And I reckon for someone with COPD then to make it to age 79 is utterly brilliant- hurrah for Richard.

Here,here Polly,but according to news reports here,he was only diagnosed 5 years ago.

I do hope they give a rerun of the good life,I did love that!!

He had emphasema for 5 years apparently and it is sad that he has now gone. A great actor both on screen and stage who will be sadly missed. I loved him in the Good Life and Ever Decreasing Circles. RIP Richard and sympathies to your family. xxxxx
