Any advise appreciated.

Hi everyone,

I've got a temperature, off my food and feeling sick all the time and so tired, I can't put one foot in front of the other. During the day my extremities are cold, during the night I get really hot and then in the earlier hours of the morning I'm shivering so much I can't catch my breath, then I start to panic. I'm not sure what to do!

Saw my GP on Friday and say's I've cracked a rib through coughing, lungs are fine!

Sounds like your going down with an infection, are you coughing up any gunk?

Yes, but GP has said lungs are ok!

You saw your GP on Friday and time has elapsed since then. I think you need to speak to NHS Direct at least. It sounds as if you have a temperature. You might think about A & E too. Drink plenty of fluids, and if you are smoking, DONT! All the best, Annie x Get better soon.

Try and see another GP in the practice, something sounds not good. if you feel that you are getting even worse do as Stich says phone nhs direct.

Get to A&E witty, and ask for a chest Xray. It may be a long wait but you'll get piece of mind, something is'nt right and it needs sorting, Make sure they know your really worried about it and they will treat you well. Your GP is only making an educated guess but if it was his own health in question I'm sure he would look more thoroughly.

witty sounds to me like you have a very nasty infection and it may not be your lungs it could well be some nasty virus you have manged to pick up. but if things have gotten worse since your last visit to the GP. then by all means call urgent care center or pop along to your a@e because it may also be if your lungs are to tight as mine often are your GP may not be able to hear the underlined problem. but the main thing is try not to panic has that alone will make you feel worse. please let us know how you go on and good luck.

hello witty if i was you i would go to a and e or try and get an out of hours doctor to do home visit then you will have a second opinion. keep us informed best wishesx

I agree. Go back to your surgery and see a different doctor. Something is not right.

Good luck.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for all your support and advice. It wasn't my lungs, so my GP was correct and I do trust him. It is a heart condition which is now being treated. I'm feeling a little better and will improve as the weeks go one.

Again, thank you.
