I recently had a 6 min walking test to see whether I was suitable for the pulminory rehab. I had to stop a few times but when complete my oxygen level was 93% which didnt seem that bad but I am still so breathless anyone know why? thank you

Hi Nannypat......seems what we COPD get like....im sat here resting at about 97...if I go to the bathroom matter of few yards...still with oxygen on...I could drop to 88.
not always that bad...have still got stinker of cold... but I do drop low quite quickly always breathless when moving around.

Degrees of breathlessness can vary so much and for very many reasons nannypat, syl is right that it could be as simple as your medication needs tweeking, or a cold as ivyleaf said.
A revisit to your GP to get checked out, get any changes made and make sure you are the best you can be is a good thing to do. Most important, with COPD, don't ever be scared to go to your Dr if you do not feel your usual self.

Hi Nannypat
93% seems like a high score...in a test or exam for example
But
If your oxygen SATs are below 90 then you need intervention, medical via serious inhalers or with oxygen cylinders
I first showed up at my docs very breathless with SATs of 90/91 ....(I felt dreadful) .. but I thought that 90/91 sounded pretty OK....was I wrong!
We humans can keep going with SATS in the high 80s....but not for long.
You feel breathless because your SATs (oxygen levels) are too low
Go to your GP .... you should not be left to cope without medical support

Thanks for that..I've been low on oxy for 2yrs now.....neglect ......like being tortured some times....at last it has been mentioned again, still waiting.fed up .pissed off with waiting and wasting muscles.no exercise .
Thanks so much I will be back at the docs as soon as.
Hi last time my oxygen was level was tested it was 92 pc. I have asthma and either very mild or no COPD. I get breathless a lot but I put it down to not being fit. Maybe its your fitness levels which are low like mine. In that case PR would do you good because they teach you how to excercise safely.

A think unless you have had xray or a ct scan can't rule nothing out ...
All the best
