Hi Jo - I have my ESA 'capability work re - assesment' coming up soon - I filled and returned the forms a couple of weeks ago but don't have the date for my ATOS medical yet. It's only a couple of years since I passed the last ATOS test and got put in the support group. Honestly Jo, the mind boggles - who do they think will emply someone with v.severe copd who is on LTOT ?

Unfortunately it is not going to change a thing !!!!!!!! The DWP which now appears to be the Tory party sat in a different office feel they are above the law.

Ministers at the DWP brought in more more precise regulations on Tuesday evening to allow it to require job seekers to take part in these schemes.

Mark Hoban MP (i am not allowed to be abusive or I would describe him as a foetus in a bottle) immediately took to the television studios and said "The courts have backed our right to require people to take part in these programmes ,this ruling ensures we can continue with these important schemes "

Now I am no legal mind but the court ruling did not appear to back these schemes at all.

The DWP has also made it very clear it will not pay any backdated money to claimants who lost benefits by refusing to go on these schemes.

What this reaction to the ruling does indicate is that this evil government will continue it's persecution of the unemployed, the sick, the disabled no matter what the courts say.

I have this morning sent an E-mail to Poundland stating that I will not use their shops whilst they take part in this forced labour scheme if millions of people did the same they would soon stop using it ,it,s quite simple if they need staff to work their shops to generate their multi -millions they should pay a wage to the staff.

I urge you all to do the same.

Woody

Timber, you're a genius. That's a great idea and I'm going to write to Poundland too.

Meanwhile, re the government's manipulation of UK law - is there any hope to had in Europe, do you suppose? I mean, would the strokes pulled by these cunservatives stand up if they were challenged under EU law?
