Cold weather is the enemy of copd meg :( Next time you're out and it's bitterly cold try wrapping a scarf over your mouth, that should make it more comfortable :) and don't forget to cover your head too as that's where we lose most of our body heat from.

I did have a scarf round my mouth perhaps not covering everything I should, and it is uphill to my home,I jus couldn't take a deep breath at all,it's happened before,2 yrs ago ,similar scenario

Defo the weather I think but if you are worried or unsure, get it checked out by your GP x

Buy a snood. Better than a scarf. :)

I also use a snood but do find that when it is very cold I have trouble getting my breath. My solution? Stay in whenever the temperature drops too far!

The cold effects my breathing, I just stay in when it's cold - havn't left the house since New Years Day.

Cold weather is not good for lung conditions so try and stay indoors or wear a lightweight scarf across mouth and nose if possible. Wrap up warm always. Going from cold to hot upsets Pete's breathing and the cold is worse. Stay well. xxx

I have been to the docs this morning, and she has said the same thing,I hate this weather, hate having to stay in

when you have c.o.p.d. i think in my personal opinion all weathers can have a knock on effect. if its to cold we have to suffer with breathing if its wet or damp it sets it off and if its warm it sets it off so im afraid its something we have to learn to live with but colder weather is worse i feel i don't get out when its to bad like it is at present with snow down

I agree with pearlsmith, all weathers do affect us, but cold is the worse. Also stuffy conditions like shopping complex's where there is no air, that affects me badly, so when going in and out of highstreet shops be sure to put that scarf round you when outside. Good luck all of you in this very cold spell we're having, take care and stay positive, Be well! xx
