Has lack of oxygen has affected my brain ............ :)

I was talking to someone who was asking me about COPD and Bronch... (still can't spell it) and how it affected my way of life.

Well without stopping to think I said "I can't do my own housework" another of my friends who was listening nearly fell of her chair choking - why you may ask - I have never done my own housework if I ever had to even think about it I broke out in a sweat my husband used to do it and I directed and when he died I employed and still do a cleaner.

Then I said I miss being able to walk very far well my friend nearly had apoplexy and she spluttered - "you would drive your car to the loo if you could!!"

Now the only reasons I can find for my memory lapses are 1 - Alzheimers and I haven't got that because I know who the Prime Minister is and the date or 2 - my brain is being deprived of oxygen because of my COPD and this is the excuse I am sticking to :)

Happy New Year Everyone and keep BREATHING xxxx

so funny to read this, good on ya :)

This did make me laugh but it also struck a chord. Before I was diagnosed and was at my lowest most breathless ebb I did actually think I was either losing my mind/memory or had early onset Alzheimer's. I was forgetful, no attention span etc. much much better now but I do think sarc makes your mind foggy as well as your lungs.

Hi

I pay for my cleaner with the money I no longer spend on cigarettes I also have lots of other things that if I still smoked I wouldn't be able to afford another great incentive to not smoke.

I wish I could train my cats to make me a decent cup of coffee but they never wait for the kettle to boil :)
