Merry christmas to you as well - I also have Bronchiectasis and COPD (which is an umbrella term for emphysema and bronchitis) and have done so for several years now.

It is manageable and and does not need to be too restrictive, although, of course, running marathons, climbing everest and the like are probably out!!!

All the best for 2013

Hi, I have emphysema and brochiectasis, but NOT today.

Hubby and myself were up early (got all the veg done yesterday and cooked the pork) this morning we did stuffing, gravy and blancmange for the trifle I had already started, par boiled the potatoes for roasting and put the turkey in.. Daughter and grandson came about 12.30 and we opened our presents, ate at 1.30pm and we were so stuffed we didn't have Christmas pudding much later.

Hubby just finishing off washing up and Daughter gone with turkey parcel and grandson some pigs in blankets to have later.

Amazing what you can do when you really want to.

Exhausted now, lovely to have them here but just as nice to relax for he rest of today.

Hope everyone else has had a wonderful Christmas Day like us. :-)

polly xx

Hi Ann

Not got copd but have had bronchiectasis since babyhood, along with asthma and inflammatory arthritis. If you haven't got a respiratory consultant already you would be wise to request a referral as you really need monitoring and should also be referred to a respiratory physio and learn how to do self physio to get rid of all the gunk lerking in your lungs which would otherwise become infected. Best to get a consultant with a special interest in cystic fibrosis as they are best clued up re broch.

Good luck
