Hi Everyone

The following information is from the Met Office - they have issued a cold weather alert for parts of England from 6am Friday to 6am Saturday this week.

Please click on the link for the map of affected areas.

metoffice.gov.uk/public/wea...

Please also see my other post about keeping warm information which can be obtained by calling the helpline on 03000 030 555.

Keep Warm.

WHY IS THIS HERE DO WE ALL LIVE IN ENGLAND NOW?

Of course not, but neither do we all live in Scotland, Wales or Ireland so of course it should be here!

Hi

Sometimes information we find is only specific to one part of the UK - it would be wrong for us not to include it just because it covered only one part of the UK. Of course we would always try and find similar info for other parts of the UK- in this case I don't know if there are cold weather alerts are in place for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland - if there are we will of course post the info tomorrow. However if anyone knows if there are and would like to be helpful and post the information sooner that would be great.

Thanks

Mark

Hi

I live in Scotland and have a built in weather warning alert, it's in my car dash board it flashed minus 8 at 07:30am this morning, only went about 5c all day, that;s my weather warning.

Keep your feet head and hands warms and you will be doing alright.

Keep safe and warm

I have tried to find a "cold weather alert" for Scotland - but not been able to find anything on the Met Office site - not sure if that's because there are no cold weather alerts for Scotland or because the Met Office don't cover Scotland - I suspect it's that there are no cold weather alerts. However I have found this link - readyscotland.org/ - which seems really helpful for anyone in Scotland.

As and when we find similar for Wales and Northern Ireland we will let you know.

Thanks

Mark

And here is Wales -

And the Met Office info

And Northern Ireland

Wowee, I KNOW it was cold last night. Went to bathroom in the early hours and then husband came rushing back in the bedroom saying he could smell gas and the boiler wasn't firing - Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Luckily we have a contract with the Gas Board and it was all mended by lunchtime (whilst I stayed firmly under the duvet with the electric blanket on!).

Ok people it is cold out as I found out to my cost today. Daytime temp managed a hefty 5 degrees during the day, this was in the NE of England. Luckily the wind was very light. Tonight its forecast to be -4 double duvet time...... :)
