Winter Nights

Have we any suggestions for what to do on cold winter nights that will fit in with a lung condition lifestyle (not out painting the town red) or needing a lot of effort :-)

Not sure whether you are M/F or whether you are an oldie. Answer, sitting doing any one of a number of things. I like forum chat and I go into Grandmums.com (title right?) I certainly dont go out like I would have done years ago. See what is good on TV, use iplayer. Would recommend the new Kindle Fire. Investigate it.

Me again gransnet.com is the correct title.

Hi Chiggles, apart from knitting which i cant do so much of lately due to arthritis and reading which i do mostly in bed i like jigsaw puzzles..... i find them restful and you can stop and start as you like, then the old computor of course. used to do a lot of family history but dont think i can go much further with mine.!

Hi, I also have arthritis but fiind using Brittany Birch knitting needles I can still knit. They are quite expensive, so maybe bamboo might be cheaper? But I can certainly recommend Brittany Birch.

I joined Love Film, I like to put my feet up, have a glass or three of wine and watch a good film or read a book. Ivyleaf has made me want to do a jig saw puzzle, not done one for years. :)

Now, depending if you got company or not, may open up your options......................

Dad loves scrabble, othello and quizes. If ur on ur tod, there's nowt like a good book, magazine or the tv.

Then there are various things including, xbox, playstation, ds etc. The d.s is good for all the variety from games to suduko and sports etc. No need to leave your chair x

Hi Chiggles have you ever thought of researching your family tree? . It can be a truly absorbing hobby. I have spent 1000s of hours researching not only mine but friends as well. Just be careful you dont get addicted like I did.... :).

Oh Puff that drives me up the wall, but I do like jigsaws especially Wasgij ones where you don't do the picture on box but what the people in the puzzle can see!

I'm getting quite good at jigsaws I did one the other night in under an hour. I was over the moon because it said 3-5 years on the box.

Hi Chiggles. I love doing jigsaws, too and reading books (real and Kindle, which has loads of free books on all types of subjects) and researching my family tree but I recently started making jewellery which can be very interesting. Practical, too - have made extra Christmas presents for my daughters and granddaughters!! Knitting and needlework can be absorbing, and macrame, which my Uncle taught me how to do when I was little (he learnt in the forces!)

Good luck attempting to choose from so many ideas that people have come up with - I'm exhausted just thinking about it, lol!! ;)
