Cough,cough,cough,cough.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if its the norm to get cough after cough.

I have had 2 exacerbations since August.am now suffering with sore throat,headache,cough.and loss of appetite.

I do wonder how and where I pick these germs up from.im not at work.rarely mix with people who are unwell.and I'm sick of it.

Is anybody else suffering through no fault of their own.

I sympathise. I have clocked up 6 chest infections since last Christmas. I have bronchiectasis and do enjoy inbetween periods. Spoilt the last one with a heavy cold. . I cough frequently and it is productive. Germs come from nowhere if you go out, especially if the body is in the mood to receive them.

My advice is to ask for a check up with the respiratory nurse or your GP. Flu jabs etc. My nurse has offered to repeat my pneumonia jab. Also something to ease the throat.

Hi like you i,m always going down with "colds" dont work cant get out much so where do they come from ? I also get sick of it....often ache all over, sneeze, cough, feel chilled . I tryto do as they say stay warm etc sometimes i think i,ll throw caution to the wind, stick on a fleece and go dig some weeds!! staying in and keeping warm not working for me........

Hi, My husband is always getting germs from others! When the bird flu panic was on - I instigated using hand gel coming in and out of the building AND before making cups of tea which seemed to help. He has found vitamin D may have kept them at bay .. a little. Buttercup syrup sometimes helps him with his cough but it is so persistent! Try to drink lots of hot drinks (think the nurse meant tea not hot toddies!). He has to take steroids with the antibiotics otherwise they don't seem to work as well but once in the "cycle" it can take four or five courses before he truly gets rid of it. This cold snap has had him very breathless and lots of coughing. We live in fear of someone calling with a cold! Take care and hope your cough clears up. TAD xx
